Growth Drivers Priority Sectors Increase Water Use Efficiency Increase Seed Replacement Rate Soil Health Management & INM IPM and IWM Value Addition by Agro-Processing Rain-Fed Farming and Fodder Production Crop Diversification and Organic Farming Efficient Technology Dissemination PPP & Farm Mechanization
4
Special Plan to achieve 19+ MT Pulses Production Focus Area Utilization of new areas through intercropping in Kharif Pulses in selected 15 districts Use of improved varieties seed Use of Critical Inputs – Use of Sulphur – Use of Micronutrients – Plant Growth Regulators Higher Water Use Efficiency through Sprinkler

Interventions A. Intercropping Introduction of inter cropping of Pigeon Pea + Cotton/Maize/Pearlmillet Intercropping of Moong with Maize/Sorghum/Pearlmillet Intercropping of Urd with Maize/Sorghum/Pearlmillet Intercropping of Moth with Pearlmillet B. Inclusive Water Management Sprinklers are important for short duration pulses like Urdbean, Moongbean and Mothbean 10% funds of Micro Irrigation Scheme is diverted to selected districts under Special Plan 19+ Million Tonnes of Pulses C. Critical Inputs – Efforts are made to increase pulse production and productivity by use of critical inputs / Catalyst which include use of sulphur, micronutrients and plant growth regulators
7
Physical Achievement 2012-13 A. Intercropping B. Sprinkler installed in 966 ha C. Efforts were made for use of critical inputs but farmers showed less interest as the kharif pulses are mostly grown under rainfed conditions CropSeed Distribution in Qtls.
