An Evening in Paris
2
Our proposed theme for Lexington High’s 2011 prom is an elegant Evening in Paris. The Lexington Parks Building will be transformed into a Parisian dream.
3
Focal points The main attraction is the 12’ lighted Eiffel Tower with accompanying lamp post. Colored butcher paper can be hung behind the tower to set it off. Night Sky- Silver stars will hang from the ceiling on silver ribbon.
4
Tables will be donned with sleek black table cloths, mirror center pieces, 6 votive candles and a small floral arrangement in a hurricane shaped glass (flowers will not be as large as the ones pictured). Take-home memory booklets will be placed at each seat.
5
Parents will help collect memories of the class from baby pictures to senior portraits and compile them to create a slideshow that will play during desert for the whole class to view and then repeat during dancing. We have also ordered a mic and set of speakers for the scheduled presentations. Also, if there is a stage there, we will place a large flower arrangement in front.
6
We’re assuming kids will eat before they attend the event. Therefore, using the chocolate fountain owned by the school, parents will put together fruit/marshmallow/angel food cake desert kabobs. Kabob- style presentation will help keep dipping quick and hopefully keep fingers out of the chocolate. They will be presented on three tiered silver trays and the focal point on the table will be the bright tulip arrangement from Love’s, Rockdale.
7
Pictures of each couple will be taken by Photography by Jen upon entrance to the event. There will be a starry night backdrop and Eiffel Tower with ‘Lexington Prom 2011’ written on it.
8
In total, we spent $3,202. This means there will be $1,198 left over for the Senior trip. This figure does NOT include the revenue ticket sales will generate. Therefore you will have more than two-grand left to spend on the trip.
