Case study: Herpes Maria san is a 17-year-old young lady, who has been in an intimate relationship for about six months. She does know her partner that well and never insisted on the issue of getting tested. Over time she notice a few blisters and painful sores in her vaginal area. She ignored the pain and thought that it was a hair bump or she simply cut herself shaving. The sores continued to appear and she finally decided to see a doctor. The doctor simply explained to her that she was having an outbreak of genital Herpes. He told her that this was a sexually transmitted disease (Std) and she needed to notify her partner.

Signs- Physical content
Tingling sensations in affected areas. Small bumps form into blisters.\ Develop flu-like symptoms More blisters come rapidly in painful sores.

Symptoms: Herpes Sores typically on the inside of the vagina Fever
Muscle ache Swollen lymph nodes (glands) Problems urinating or a burning feeling while urinating.

Test/Physical examination
PCR test Physical exam Blood test Polymerase chain reaction is a biochemical technology. This test looks for pieces of the virus DNA. Usually with women a pep is taken. Viral culture- taking the tissue sample or scrapping of the sores for examination Analyzes a sample of your blood for the presence of HSV (Herpes simplex virus) antibodies to detect a past herpes infection.

Diagnosis and Prognosis
Treatments Can not be cured ,but can be treated. Benefit from taking antiviral medications such as…. Acyclovir (zovirax) Famciclovir (Famvir) Valacyclovir (Valtrex)
