Lesson 1 Dear Jane 第 2 頁 Reading

If you have personal problems, try turning to Jane Sanders for help. She is a newspaper columnist counselor. Write her a letter, and she will be happy to help. The following is a sample from her column.

Dear Jane, I am a sixteen-year-old vocational school student. I have a boyfriend, Billy, and he is a year older than I am.

He was the leader on the school basketball team then. I admired his enthusiasm for the sport. Besides, he was very considerate to me.

He encouraged me to study in the same school after I graduated from the junior high school. I thought we could still keep a close relationship, so I agreed.

Now, Billy spends more time on basketball and with his buddies. It seems that he pays less attention to me. When we have a chance to meet, he always talks about his teammates and how crazy he is about basketball.

He used to remember to celebrate my birthday, but now he completely forgets the important date. All I want to know is how much he cares about me. What should I do? Sad Nancy

Dear Nancy, I believe your young little boyfriend is proud of having a girlfriend like you. I advise that you should support his as usual.

For example, you can take a photo of him when he practices on the team or takes part in a game. Start a blog and upload those photos.

Share your admiration with him and let him know you are his number one fan. I think he will gradually learn to cherish a special friend like you. Don’t feel sad. Keep your chin up! Jane
