What is Different About ARRA Funds? Unprecedented levels of transparency, oversight and accountability Aggressive expenditure requirements (ARRA funds must be used consistently) No co-mingling of ARRA funds and non-ARRA funds

What is Different About ARRA Funds? (con’t) Quarterly projects reporting of ARRA fund expenditures, job creation and retention statistics Funds should be spent in a timely fashion and reported quarterly

ARRA Reporting 1512 “FederalReporting.gov” Michigan Tech submits reports including sub- recipient data to the Federal Government’s website “FederalReporting.gov” Michigan Tech reviews the data entered in “Federal Reporting.gov” including sub- recipient data. Federal Agencies also start their review. Federal Agencies review data submitted and Michigan Tech revises data, if needed. Michigan Tech’s reports are published on Recovery.gov for the public. 1-10 days after the end of a quarter: 11-21 days after the end of a quarter: 22-29 days after the end of a quarter: 30 days after the end of a quarter:

SPA’s Role and Responsibility Initiate appropriate data collection and reporting procedures to assure ARRA requirements are met in a timely and effective manner Review all data collected and correct if necessary Submit quarterly reports to FederalRecovery.gov

PI’s Role and Responsibility Report on Two Data Elements Each Quarter: 1.The percentage of project completion Not StartedLess than 50% Completed Completed 50% or MoreFully Completed 2.Description of quarterly activities/milestones Grants: Overall purpose and expected outcomes for the award and for first-tier sub-awards Contracts: Significant services performed and/or supplies delivered

SPO’s Role and Responsibility Michigan Tech will do the federal reporting Collect information on a standard sub-recipient data form provided to each sub-recipient Sub-recipient must send reporting elements to Michigan Tech by the 5 th day of the reporting month Notify Michigan Tech PI if sub-recipient report is late; in addition, SPO will contact sub-recipient
