Perfect Tense Verbs This tense is formed by using the forms of the helping verb HAVE with the past participle of the main verb. –have + past participle

Forms of HAVE Past- had Present- has or have Future- will have

Past Participle The past participle of a verb is a form of the verb that usually ends in -ed. This verb form is used with the helping verbs have, has, or had. –Talk-talked –Smile-smiled –Watch-watched That’s true for regular verbs that follow the rules!

Irregular Verbs Irregular verbs don’t follow the rules. You can’t just add –ed to them. You use these all of the time. GoWent RunRan SingSang SwimSwam
