The problem In the recent years the pollution in Hong Kong have increased Pollution from China has blew towards Hong Kong There are more and more hazy days now comparing to 16 years ago.

Causes The pollution is caused by factories. Cars, Buses and vans. People smoking Burning fossil fuels Fireworks from theme parks Disneyland Power Plants Diesel (gas)

About Air Pollution In Hong Kong there are two types of pollution: local-street level pollution and smoggy days.Diesel vehicles are the main cause for local-street level pollution. However, smog is produced by motor vehicles, industry and power plants. Tourists are still amazed Even though you can barely see across the Victoria Harbour Tourists are still fascinated.

No. of Smoggy days This is a graph of the smoggy days throughout these 16 years. Obviously it keeps going UP.

The Air Quality Programme The government wanted to find a Solution for the Air Quality. So they started the Air Quality Programme. What they did was they replaced the oil which they used for Taxies and now they replace it with LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)

The Air Quality Programme The government also reducing Emissions from Industrial Sources and Power Plants. Reducing Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Emissions Ozone Layer Protection Tackling Regional Air Pollution These all were a part of the Programme.

The results These were the results of using the LPG. Obviously the number of smoky vehicles are going down

Conclusion Hong Kong is a heavily polluted city. The government is trying to help as much as they can. There are some improvements which can still be made like using renewable energy. Hong Kong is a great and beautiful city if we don’t pollute it. So try to help
