7. Using EPICS When logging in to use EPICS, user’s should choose host epicsrv, not epicsrv1 or epicsrv2. Starting applications: –Double-poke a desktop Action icon. –Single-poke a Control Panel’s ‘NSTX’ sub-panel icon. –‘Type’ in a ‘terminal’ window. If the x-terminal is not behaving normally: –Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot an x-terminal.

Windows resizing - Cannot simply drag at corner. –Poke right mouse botton in ‘top border’ of window to bring up window options. –Poke ‘Size’ selection using left mouse button. –Release buttons. Move mouse beyond current borders to stretch window. –poke left mouse when size is correct. Medm Printing: Use the right mouse button anywhere in the display to bring up menu … drag and release over ‘print’.
