Thailand culture The culture of Thailand incorporates cultural beliefs and characteristics to the area known as modern day Literature in Thailand is heavily influenced by Indian Hindu culture Thai people usually don’t show affection in public as they find it disrespectful. Thai people strive towards refinement, in their every day life. This has been a strong part of the cultural identity. This is shown by their good manners and their soft spokeness.

religion It is influenced primarily by Animism, Hinduism, Buddhism, as well as by later migrations from China, and southern India. Buddhism= 94.6 % Muslim = 4.6 % Christians/catholics = 0.7 % And a small amount of Hinduism Freedom of religion, government respects their religions.

Thai cuisine is famous for the blending of four fundamental tastes. sweet (sugar, fruits) spicy hot (chilies) sour (lime juice, tamarind) salty (fish sauce, soy sauce)

language Phasa Thai is the national language. Standard Thai, also known as Central Thai or Siamese, is the official language of Thailand, spoken by over 20 million people (2000 ) like the pound, originated from a traditional unit of mass.

customs The wai: consists of a slight bow, with the palms pressed together in a prayer-like fashion The wai is traditionally observed upon entering formally a house. After the visit is over, the visitor asks for permission to leave and repeats the salutation made upon entering. The wai is also common as a way to express gratitude or to apologise. And when u meet new people or friends. Someone other customs are no feet on the table, it is rude to touch other peoples heads, and to shout loudly.

Royal family His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the worlds longest reigning Monarch and one of Thailand’s most revered Kings. Was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States of America Early in 1950, his Majesty returned to Thailand for his marriage to Mom Rajawongse Sirikit Kitiyakara on the 28th of April l950 and had his Coronation on May 5th. Their Majesties the King and Queen have four children: 1. H R H Princess Ubol Ratana born on 5th April 1951. 2. H R H Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, born on 28th July 1952. 3. H R H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, born on 2nd April 1955. 4. H R H princess Chulaphorn, born on 4th July 1957.

Clothes, houses the past Thais tended to wear more traditional clothing, which was made from silk and other cloths. Many Thai people were sarongs. Many thai people wear silk shirts and cotton pants to work the dress up for festivals mainly. Thai houses: Thailand modern with many modern buildings. Some traditional houses are made of teak wood and some houses are built on poles near the waters edge.
