2.  High definition television is the highest form of digital television.  16:9 aspect ratio, which is similar in appearance to a movie theater screen.  HDTV versus Analog - The wide screen has the better resolution and better quality. 2

3.  HDTV's resolutions are 720p, 1080i and 1080p  The number stands for the number of lines that create the image.  The letter describes the type of scan used by the TV to display the picture.  “P” stands for progressive and “I” stands for interlaced.  Resolution matters because the more lines means a better picture.  Similar to digital photo’s how dpi format determines print quality. 3

4.  The wide screen is good on our eyes…  we see the rectangular wide screen images better than the old square format.  our eyes see better from left/right compared to up/down.  The wide screen on an HDTV will allow more of the on- screen scene, which is great for sports and movies.  HDTV Resolution 720 or 1080 lines.  More lines means a better picture than analog TV.  Analog Televisions of the past 480 lines. 4

5.  Shelf life…  Typically with Plasma HDTV vs. LCD HDTV.  Analog has the higher shelf life.  HDTV Easier to break… Who cares?? 5 VS

6.  Home entertainment combines both audio and video components that can play a variety of media in a comfortable and convenient home environment.  In a home theater system, both audio and video components work together with one another to produce a cinema experience. 6

7.  Home Entertainment systems usually come in either individual components or in prepackaged integrated home theater systems.  Large widescreen TV  DVD Player  Receiver with digital surround sound processing and surround sound speakers. 7

9.  The concept of Smart homes connect all the devices and appliances in your home so they can communicate with each other and with you.  Anything in your home that uses electricity can be put on the home network and at your command. 9

10.  You can command your home by:  Voice  remote control  Computer  Home applications can be regulated.  Lighting  Home security  Home theater and entertainment  Thermostat Regulation. 10

11.  Switches will be the thing of the past..  Smart Homes will bring all home technology together in society.  Accelerated change in this type of technology, will eventually give everyone the ability of the Jetsons. 11
