The Encore Way Be Safe Be Responsible Be Respectful

Core Values Mr. Davis and Mrs. Hoover want each of you to be successful in our classroom. This means we need to agree to follow basic rules that we will discuss now.

Be safe! Our top priority is to make sure each and every person in our building is safe... students, teachers, custodians, secretaries, administrators, lunch ladies, security officers... and especially our substitute teachers! (more on substitutes later!)

Be safe! What does it mean to YOU to be “safe”?

Be responsible! Be on time to class!

Be responsible! Bring everything you need for class... supplies, completed homework, and a positive attitude!

Be positive! A good attitude--one open to : engaging, learning, and participating positively - - every day!

Be responsible! If you are absent, you are still required to complete all assignments. Visit our class wikispace to find assignments: www.rhsencoreacademy.wikispaces.com

Be responsible! Help take care of our building, our classroom, our furniture, and our supplies! Leave our space better than you found it!

Be respectful! Appropriate behavior is expected at all times!

Being respectful means… Following directions Engaging in the lesson Using volume control over your voice during activities and discussions

Being respectful means… Knowing when to listen Putting away your cellphone and electronics during class... unless T.E.P.O. is in effect.

Being respectful means … Being respectful of school property Being polite and respectful to classmates, teachers, guests in our classroom

Handbook! All rules in your student handbook will be considered rules of this classroom as well. This includes following dress code and appropriate cellphone use.

Core Values Again, Mr. Davis and Mrs. Hoover want each of you to be successful in our classroom. This means we need to agree to follow the basic rules as outlined above.

Core Values If a student is having difficulty, Mr. Davis and Mrs. Hoover will work with you to help you get back on track. However, we will NOT allow individual students to disrupt the learning of others.

Discipline Ladder Behavior that is inappropriate in the classroom environment will be dealt with quickly and consistently.

Discipline Ladder Step One: Verbal Warning Mr. Davis or Mrs. Hoover will directly as you to stop your behavior. This is a Verbal Warning.

Discipline Ladder Step Two: Call home Mr. Davis or Mrs. Hoover will call your parent or guardian for a quick update on the behaviors that have occurred and to enlist their support.

Discipline Ladder Step Three: Office Referral Mr. Davis or Mrs. Hoover will enter a Behavior Log Entry in PowerSchool for any student who continues to break rules. Administration will follow up with discipline according to the Encore Academy Merit System.
