Tornado Path Touch down in Angus approx. 5:20pm Approx. 124 home affected Numerous barns and outbuildings damaged 102 homes on 2 streets identified as serious concerns Lift off at edge of Barrie 5:35 pm.

Role of the Building Official Establish minimum life safety requirements Keep public out of area Come up with a working plan to determine the extent of the damage Secure buildings Role of the CBO is to keep everyone safe, communicate what is necessary to member of Emergency Services and public and what steps are needed next.

Lessons In Co-operation OBOA members stepped forward immediately and came to our assistance OPP ensured that the area was secured Fire Department – search/vacated homes immediately OPP, Fire and Building secured pets, medicines, wedding dress, etc. Office of the Fire Marshall and Emergency Management guided us in the operation Simcoe County Emergency Measures Hydro One volunteering machinery and staff Public who provided much to the workers on site

Suggestions Establish an emergency response group with OBOA Approach Ministry regarding changes to the Code to address our changing climatic conditions Suggest CBO be part of Emergency Management Group Establish protocol for handling disasters
