PROBLEM - traffic accidents - road work - traffic jam - weather condition - rush hour - border crossing traffic ROAD OBSTRUSCTION:

CONSEQUENCE - more pollution of environment - more time is wasted - disordered nerves - higher costs of travelling TRAFFIC JAM:

PROTOTYPE SOLUTION -providing traffic information -system M-vrata from mobile operator Mobitel -outside service provider -exchanging SMS messages -through mobile network -provided infrastructure - application development USE OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY:

PROTOTYPE FUNCTIONING -user sends SMS message with Key word through mobile network -Mobitel’s system transforms SMS message to XML package -package is sent to URL address of provider server -application processes received XML package -create XML response package and sends it back to Mobitel -Mobitel converts received XML package to SMS message -sends SMS to users mobile phone number - user receives SMS containing information he requested USER/PROVIDER COMMUNICATION:

LESSONS LEARNED - user can access very specific information regarding traffic in region of his interest Mobitel’s ADVANTAGE: DISADVANTAGES: -service provider is bounded on sending SMS messages in response to users request, he can not send MMS message or voice message to user that may be useful in service - system M-vrata does not enable location depended services

CONCLUSION - SMS service based on system M-vrata enables users and service provider to exchange of short and very specific information at any chosen time STATEMENT: OTHER EXAMPLE: - information on start of specific sessions - information on free parking spaces - information about lunch and refreshment
