When Can Fair Use Be Claimed? How Much Information Can I Use? There are many limitations on how much information can be used from a source. Some examples include: Up to 10% or 1,000 words (whichever is less) of a copyrighted text Up to 10% or 3 minutes of copyrighted motion media work Poems of less than or up to 250 words Up to 5 photographs or 15 illustrations from a single artist There are many limitations on how much information can be used from a source. How Many Copies Can I Make?
