Why Peace Education? Language learning can be a good place for the promotion of good living and peace enhancement. Peace education will be able to empower the learners to control their own lives. Learner-centered: each learner can start with his/her own life, build his / her own peace before promoting peace to others.

The Contents 15 units of readings (folklores from several different countries), include vocabulary gloss and exercises. Each unit starts with a famous quotation to be used as the theme of the unit. Reading exercises are provided not only for the comprehensive understanding of the reading, but also as a means to start a discussion on peace and peace enhancement.

Vocabulary gloss Can be used: To help the learners themselves in understanding the readings. To enrich learners’ vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. To create different sentences using the new vocabulary. To learn some cultural context, which may entails in the words.

Taking a Closer Look Contains: Comprehension questions Making reasonable connection in the order of the story using some given statements Checking whether the given statements are true or false and giving reasons

Responding to the reading Understanding the story from the learner’s point of view Choose a classmate to listen and discuss each other’s idea

Delving more deeply Use a certain statement in the story and connect it to the learner’s own experience or to the life of others.
