Vocabulary Workshop and Spelling Students will demonstrate mastery of vocabulary workshop words –9 units distributed monthly distributed monthly

Reading Responsibility Required to complete 4 book reviews during 6th grade year 1 each marking period Encouraged to read a variety of genres

Grammar / Mechanics Nouns Pronouns Verbs Adjectives / Adverbs Prepositions The Sentence Capitalization and Punctuation

Supplies The following items are required each day for class: T PAWS –Text (binder + Vocabulary Workshop book) –Pencil –Agenda –Work –S.S.R. book **Up to 5 extra credits points will be rewarded each quarter.**

Grading Breakdown *The following grades will be given for language arts class: Reading Writing/English Compositions/Prompts Vocabulary Spelling Comprehension/Fluency Grammar/Mechanics Reader’s Responses Book Reviews

Assignment Policies All assignments should be turned in by the due date.assignments If an assignment is late, points will be deducted. If a major assignment is more than two days late, students will be recommended to report to my room at 7:30 A.M. to complete it.
