7 CSI Goal 1: Reading Comprehension
All students will meet grade level benchmarks in reading comprehension skills. Objective: 100% of Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students will demonstrate proficiency in reading comprehension as measured by 1.0 year gain in comprehension skills by June, 2015, as measured by the TerraNova, Benchmark Assessment System (BAS), Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI), Raz-Kids, and common grade level assessments. Strategy 1: Differentiation of instruction to increase reading comprehension

8 CSI Goal 2: Mathematics All students will meet grade level benchmarks in math problem solving skills. Objective: 100% of Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students will demonstrate proficiency in math problem skills as measured by a 1.0 year gain in mathematics by June, 2015, as measured by the TerraNova, IXL, Exemplars, and common grade level assessments. School Supplies Class List School Calendar Handouts on table Teacher newsletters, school Parent Newsletter, phone calls, Office Hours: School Hours: 8:50-3:30 Lunch Costs: Elementary (K-5th grades) $2.40, or 2,00 EURO Lunch menu is posted in parent newsletter at the beginning of each month. These lunches are contracted by AAFES Foods. Accounts can be established to pay for meals using a PIN number or students can purchase on a daily basis. Parents are able to set up automated school meal account through LunchPrepay a third-party payment system. It is important to maintain a positive balance in your child’s account at all times. New: Free and Reduced Lunch Program. New applications with updated information 1 Registered nurse on duty: Ambir Pankau: Immunizations, Medication, Permission for medication form, Health screening, sports physical, First aide, Emergency contact number updated. Report Cards Internet GE –ESL – SPED – Read 180 – LSS – Music – PE – Art – Culture – Counseling – DoDEA Standards for each grade. Can be found on the DoDEA website ES Classroom assignments will be posted at 1200 on Friday, 15 August. Internet Usage agreement parents sign at registration. Students sign form at the beginning of school Gmail: Student Communication Tool Safe, Filtered , digital lockers for students. Gmail accounts suspension of use if behavior is determined to be detrimental to school/students. All students in grades third through fifth grades have accounts assigned to them by the ET. These accounts are monitored to control content. Brief mention of Internet safety and its purpose ASPEN Gradebook GradeSpeed 4th – 5th Grade: Checking assignments, individual assignment grades, overall grades, progress reports. Report Cards: issued quarterly

Speak with your children about using seatbelts sitting while bus is in motion and using inside voices while on the bus. Progressive discipline from warning-parent contact-thereafter the consequences become progressively more severe. (to include suspension from riding the bus). 4-R’s: Respect for self, Respect for classmates, Respect for adults, Respect for Safety of all. Zero Tolerance for weapons – Suspension – expulsion Object or instrument that is made to, or used in a manner to, either inflict or threaten to inflict serious bodily injury or instill fear

School has a plan, it is kept confidential. Students safety is our top priority! Weather: Listen to radio AFN for weather updates and information addressing school closures and procedures to follow. School Closure: Parents are to listen to AFN Radio for DoDEA announcements/Channel 13, Power/water outage procedures we will call parents. Drills: Fire weekly during the 1st 4 weeks then Monthly thereafter Bomb Threat/ Once a year Lockdown/ Once a year Evacuation/ Once a year

15 Start Times Monday, August 18 – First day of school
Mon-Fri, Aug – Individual Conferences (No school for Kindergarten students only) Monday, August 25 – Kindergarten First Day

16 First Day of School On the first day of school, students will line up in front of the old cafeteria starting at 8:30. Teachers will walk their class up the hill to the new school. Staff members will be in the hallways to help the students and parents.  At 9:45, First & Second grade parents will be asked to leave the building so teachers can begin classes.
