Cold War-Asia Korean Conflict Starts when Communist North invades Democratic South UN intervention Cease-fire US uses policy of containment to justify intervention in Vietnam and Korea

Communism-China Nationalists in power after overthrow of Qing dynasty Nationalist gov’t weakened after years of civil war and rebellion Mao Zedong becomes leader of Communist Party in China and is backed by the Soviet Union Eventually, Mao and the Communists take control of China Very strict government Ex.
