2. In Athens, car owners are only alowed to drive into city centre every other day

3. They must match the final number of their car number plate to the day’s date – if the date is an even number, and so is the final number of the number plate, they can enter innercity area

4. The same goes for odd number plates and odd dates. That means that 50 percent of all cars must stay at home

5. Pollution is measured every day, abd when the levels of pollution get too hight, all cars are banned from entering the city centre.

6. However, as the new underground railway is completed and extended, it is hoped that soon more commuters will be travelling by Metro.

7. If so, it may be possible to lift the present traffic restrictions.
