Final Conference Gilberto Collinassi - EnAIP FVG – Italy October 10 th Naas

The starting idea The IWB (and the technology in general), as new and innovative as it is, cannot itself change the didactics, but that it may be an opportunity to rethink the teaching and so to innovate the didactics. ‘Using ICT effectively in schools is about more than changing resources; it is about changing practices and culture’ (BECTA, 2007).

The Training Programme Approach ACTION RESEARCH - combination of theoretical training with practical training on the job COLLABORATIVE LEARNING - reciprocal teaching and peer- to-peer training, thanks to the role of the Champions BLENDED LEARNING - face-to-face bootcamps & online activities (CPD resources and the community of practice) Training teachers' TECHNOLOGICAL and PEDAGOGICAL SKILLS BOOTCAMP MODEL - Experiential Learning Methodology

The Learning Manual: How to Use the IWB Approach about IWBDescriptionPedagogical Methodology EXPOSITIONThe IWB is used to 'project' the contents T EACHER - CENTRED ( LECTURE ) ENHANCING EXPOSITION The IWB is used to explain the contents with multimedia resources. T EACHER - CENTRED (M ULTIMEDIA LESSON ) INTERACTIONThe students go to the IWB to carry out exercises, activities. LEARNER - CENTRED (I NTERACTIVE LESSON ) ENHANCING INTERACTION The students interact with the IWB, the contents, the teacher and each other. TEAM - CENTRED (C OLLABORATIVE LESSON )

Educational Applications: ideas/examples TITLECONCEPT MAP LEVEL All AIMS Synthesize a learning topic and develop metacognition DIDACTIC APPROACH Collaborative learning PROCEDURE STEPLESSONWHO DOES WHAT ACTIVITIESTOOLS 1 INTERACTIVET eacher leads Students from the desks Brainstorming on the IWB. The teacher leads a discussion to identify facts, terms, and ideas that students think are in anyway associated with the topic. The teacher, using the pen, makes a list of these items and writes them in very brief form, i.e. a single word or short phrase. Pen tool Lines, arrows Copy/Paste 2 COLLABORATIVE Students groups work Divide the students into groups of 4 or 5 and explain that they are going to construct a concept map about the topic. Then they have finished, the teacher invites a student from each group to come to the IWB and show the own group's Cmap. Add file/image Screen capture Pen tool Lines, arrows Copy/Paste or IHMC Cmaptools software

Field experimentation Project Form Education Sector: PLC/VTOS/… Subjects/Components, including Level and Component Code The Learning Experience: What will be delivered to Learners Added value for teaching – what you think the IWB will add to the teaching Indicate the education sector:  Back to Education  Post Leaving CC  Youthreach  VTOS  ABE  CE  Second Level School/Community College  Other (indicate) Indicate the subject area and the topics of learning E.g. Drawing L5 5N1862  Number of students  Learning objectives  Overall duration of classes  Progression of activities over the time  Expected outcomes and products METHODOLOGY (How you are going to teach the topic) (e.g. group tutorials, group discussion, individual interaction with board, coaching, demonstrations, Q & A, practical skills development, peer tutoring). What is the added value expected from the use of IWB? How the interactive whiteboard can enhance the students' learning, the learning evaluation or any other aspect of the teacher's work?
