C.E.O. is a collaborative effort by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), Montgomery College (MC), the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) and the business community to build a qualified and work-ready pool of talent for the region’s growing industries and organizations. Our mission is to engage high school students in a five year progressive program that will give them experiential opportunities and coaching to build career readiness skills that will enable success in their chosen field of interest.

Senior Year with the C.E.O. Program ACES Summer Bridge at USG Orientation “C.E.O. @ Your School” Sessions Career Exploration Activities One-On-One Career Consultation

What is it? A customized group session for C.E.O. students at their school. Sessions will include workshops, career assessment reviews and career consultations. Sessions will take place during lunch and/or after-school.

C.E.O. students are expected to meet one-on-one at least 1 time a semester with their Career Readiness Coach. Meetings are to be scheduled by the student. In-Person (During Coach’s hours at your school or after-school) Virtual (FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.)

Experiential activities through which students will explore various career fields within businesses in Montgomery County. These field trips allow students to observe, ask questions and learn from the experience of being in the industry. Career immersions emphasize the relationship between school studies and work.

The Career Experience Opportunities (C.E.O.) Program is structured for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students with the intention to complete the Montgomery College (MC) to the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) academic pathway. Students will be able to: Increase their awareness of the world of work & opportunities Prepare for postsecondary and career success through program activities and workplace experiences Assess career choices and related pathways to develop an academic and career goal and action plan
