APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. GENESIS 2:18-25 MARCH 9, 2011 STUDIES IN GENESIS

GENESIS 2:18 18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

GOD SAYS “ITS NOT GOOD FOR MAN TO BE ALONE. THIS TRUTH STILL STANDS TODAY.

GOD SAYS HE WOULD MAKE HIM A HELP MEET. A MAN CANNOT HAVE TRUE SUCCESS WITH OUT THE HELP OF A WOMAN.

GENESIS 2:19 19 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.

GENESIS 2:20 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an helpmeet for him.

* WITHIN THE NAME THAT ADAM GAVE TO EACH ONE OF THE CREATURES ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THAT PARTICULAR ANIMAL OR FOWL;

so Adam was possessed with amazing intelligence; to do all of this Adam had to have distinct knowledge of speech, the meaning of all words and the capacity of attaching words to ideas.

* From the very beginning God demonstrates His desire and willingness to allow man to participate in what he is doing. God could have easily named all of the animals, but gave that responsibility to Adam.

* God cannot and will not do certain things in the earth today with out the participation of a man or woman. God needs us to agree with Him and to allow Him to use us. God is forever searching to find someone on earth to share His work with.

?

*The big question is “will you allow Him to work through you?”

GENESIS 2:20 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an helpmeet for him.

* God allows Adam to see everything, but nothing captured his heart and caused him to desire to dwell with it.

GENESIS 2:21 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

This was the first surgery and God was the surgeon. * Adam was in a deep sleep. The deep sleep (Hebrew Word Tardemah) was a divine anesthetic administered by the Great Physician.

* God will also administer a spiritual anesthetic that will allow us to sleep while He performs spiritual surgery on our inner man.

GENESIS 2:22 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

* When God created the animals the Bible says He formed them.

GENESIS 2:19 19 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.

* When God created the woman the Bible says “He made her”. The word made in the Hebrew text means “to build”. God built woman in such a way that she would gain the attention of Adam.

* This in part would explain why men can be found looking at women the way they do. God, it would seem, placed something in women that can easily attract the eye of a man.

* Woman was taken not from Adam’s head to dominate him, nor from his feet to be trodden down, but from under his arm to be protected and from near his heart to be loved. She is not an inferior person, she is bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh.

GENESIS 2:23 23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

ACTS 17:26 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

* We see here that all the human race is a decedent of Adam. Man gives life to woman; the woman gives life to the world. This is all designed by God Himself. Like it or not we are all related. It is about time we start acting like kin folks. Maybe that is the problem.

GENESIS 24 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

*This is the first mention of the institution of marriage. God gave marriage as a gift to Adam and Eve. They were created perfect for each other.

* Marriage was instituted by God and has three basic aspects:

1. Paul wanted the Body of Christ to know our trespasses are all forgiven. God has graciously pardoned and cancelled our debt.

2. The man and woman are joined together by taking responsibility for each others welfare and by loving the mate above all others.

3. The two become one flesh in the intimacy and commitment of sexual union that is reserved for marriage only. A strong marriage must include all three of these aspects.

GENESIS 2:25 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

* Have you noticed how a little child can run naked through a room full of strangers without embarrassment? He is not aware of his nakedness,

just as Adam and Eve were not embarrassed. All of this changes, however, after the fall into sin.
