4.  Not everybody is rich toward God: 2 Cor. 8:9  The Lord is looking for “rich” people! Lk. 12:20-21  Rich toward God, not financially rich: Lk. 12:15 4 People the Church Needs

5.  The Bible places great emphasis on Christians doing “good works”: 1 Tim. 6:17-19  Individually Christians commanded to do good to all men: Gal. 6:10; Titus 2:14; Matt. 5:13-16  Cannot shift our individual responsibility onto others! Matt. 25:31-46 5 People the Church Needs

6.  Our example is important to the world! Titus 2:10  Our failure to set a good example prevents many from obeying the gospel: Matt. 5:13-16; 2 Cor. 3:2  God has high standards for us! Phil. 1:27 6 People the Church Needs

7.  Are you a Christian out of conviction or convenience? Matt. 11:7  Do you have a “melting heart”? Josh. 14:8  Christianity is not for weaklings—its for people who are strong! Eph. 6:10- 11; 1 Cor. 15:1-2 7 People the Church Needs

8.  When we are baptized we make a commitment to be what God wants us to be: Rom. 6:1-4; 2 Cor. 5:7; Eph. 4:1  The name “Christian” means we have completely devoted our lives to Christ: Acts 11:26; 1 Pet. 4:16  Becoming a Christian is a lot like marriage: Rom. 7:4; 1 Cor. 6:19-20 8 People the Church Needs

9.  Many good examples in the Bible of those who didn’t compromise:  Moses: Ex. 10:24-26  Daniel and his three friends: Dan. 1:8; 3:16; 6:7, 10  Jesus: Matt. 26:53-54  Paul: Gal. 2:4-5  Compromise is the order of the day with most in today’s world. 9 People the Church Needs

10.  Paul describes the steadfast: 1 Cor. 15:58  Grounded: Col. 1:23  Unmovable: Psa. 1:1-3  Abounding: 2 Cor. 12:15  Laborers: Gal. 2:4-5  Our labor is not in vain! 10 People the Church Needs

11.  Paul describes the Colossians: Col. 1:2-5  The church needs people who are faithful, dependable people!  The Bible calls on us to be “faithful unto death”: Rev. 2:10; 1 Cor. 4:2  Does that describe you and me?! 11 People the Church Needs
