Objectives: Identification of suitable high yielding varieties of different pulse crops under rice fallows for targeted districts of coastal Odisha Standardisation of suitable plant stand establishment method for successful cultivation of pulse crops under residual soil moisture condition in rice fallow To find out the suitable nutrient management practice for enhancement of productivity of pulse crops mostly under paira system Proper utilisation of rice fallows and to enhance the productivity of pulses to achieve food and nutrition security 3

ParticularsTargetAchievementRemark No. of experiments32 The project started in the month of December. Because of the late initiation of the project two blocks were only selected instead of four and accordingly 50 ha were covered under the programme Operational area4 blocks2 blocks Area of coverage100 ha50 ha Capacity building-Trained 120 farmers in 4 training programmes ParticularsTargetAchievementRemark Budget provision for the year Rs 46.79 lakh including 10% institutional charges Rs 2,30,462/- Late initiation of the project resulted with the less area coverage, less mobility, less period of engagement of contractual person. Thus the expenditure incurred during the year was very low Purchase of equipments 27.9 lakh-As most of the items are to be procured from the foreign agencies, they could not satisfy all the formalities within 31 st March Technical achievement during the year 2014-15 Statement of expenditure during the year 2014-15
