Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange is associated with the Fall harvest and black is associated with darkness and death. Colors that can be produced by visible light of a narrow band of wavelengths are called pure spectral colors. The various color ranges on the spectrum are continuous, with no clear boundaries between one color and the next Science Fact #1:

Jack o’ Lanterns originated in Ireland where people placed candles in hollowed-out turnips to keep away spirits and ghosts. A pumpkin is a gourd-like squash of the genus Curcurbita and typically have a thick, orange or yellow shell, creased from the stem to the bottom, containing the seeds and pulp. Science Fact #2:

Halloween was brought to North America by immigrants from Europe who would celebrate the harvest around a bonfire, share ghost stories, sing, dance and tell fortunes. Radiation is energy that is transmitted in the form of rays, waves or particles. Bonfires give off light and heat radiation. Science Fact #3:

Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America. Tootsie Roll is a brand of chewy candy. It is a form of candy that has been manufactured in Chicago, Illinois since 1896. In 1896 its founder Leo Hirschfeld wanted a "chocolate" candy that would not melt easily in the heat, and would be an economical artificial alternative to traditional chocolates Both physical and chemical changes occurred while cooking the tootsie rolls. Some physical changes include the melting of the butter & chocolate. Some chemical changes include the sugar caramelized through cooking. Science Fact #4:

Vampires are mythical beings who defy death by sucking the blood of humans. There really are so-called vampire bats, but they're not from Transylvania. They live in Central and South America and feed on the blood of cattle, horses and birds. Science Fact #5:

Signs of a werewolf are a uni-brow, hair palms, tattoos, and a long canine teeth. Werewolf syndrome is an unusual and rare genetic disorder, which is scientifically known as hypertrichosis. Lionel the Lion-Faced Man, had congenital terminal hypertrichosis. Science Fact #6:

Many people still believe that gargoyles were created by medieval architects and stone carvers to ward off evil spirits. In architecture, a gargoyle is a carved stone grotesque, usually made of granite; In science granite is a intrusive igneous rock (“fire rock”). Granite is usually found in the continental plates of the Earth’s crust. Science Fact #7:

Blood is associated with the scary aspects of Halloween. Blood is the life-maintaining fluid that circulates through the body's: heart, arteries, veins, capillaries. Blood carries away from the body waste matter and carbon dioxide. Science Fact #8:
