WHAT IS HYMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Human resources can be defined as a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing employees within a workplace. This cuts across areas like human resources planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, organizational development, employee motivation, succession management. Etc. For the purpose of this discussion we will be focusing on the following resource functions and administrative staff. 1. Man power planning 2. Recruitment, selection and placement

MANPOWER PLANNING. This can be defined as the process by which an orgainsation ensures that the right number of people and the right kind of people are at the right place at the right time doing things for which they are economically most useful. ADVANTAGES OF MAN POWER PLANNING 1.To ensure optimum use of human rescources currently employed 2. To assess or fore cast future skills 3. To determine optimum training level 4. To provide control measures to ensure that necessary resources are available as and when due.
