2
Case The Case is just the shell around the computer/monitor to protect all of components inside of it.
3
MOBO MOBO also called the Mother Board is the large base filled with tiny computer parts that control all the signals that go to anything else (so therefore if you click on Google the signal runs to the MOBO and the MOBO tells it what to do, then the signal exits the MOBO then opens Google).
4
PSU Power supply unit, also known as the PSU controls were the power comes from and goes to (so on regular power mode the PSU allows a very large amount of power to go into the computer and on power saver mode it lets a small fraction of the power go to your computer).
5
CPU Central processing unit or CPU controls all the code in a computer (so it tells the computer what to do in start- up and shut-down and much more)
6
GPU Graphics processing unit, or GPU controls all the graphics on your computer and allows things like High, Low or Fast graphics in the settings for a computer, but my laptop was made for Gaming so AMD Graphics were put inside the GPU and therefore my laptop runs on very high resolution (HD)
7
HDD Hard disc drive also known as HDD. A HDD stores data and information inside discs, that information is read by a small laser and sent to the MOBO or CPU to be processed and used.
8
SSD Solid state drive, or SSD, they are also a data storage device although they don’t take up lots of space because of there small format and they don’t have a disc inside them.
9
USB USB or Universal serial bus, they connect multiple computers together or allow extra storage devices to be plugged in. ultimately they are just a way to expand your computers abilities.
10
Heat Sinks Heat sinks usually cool the CPU or GPU but they suck in the hot are the device is releasing and releases it to the outside of a computer to cool the computer and prevent lag and your computer from crashing.
11
Optical Drive Optical drive is were you put discs in, by discs I mean like Video Games or Movies or Stored Photos, they allow you to have things of your computer so they don’t take up your computer space.
12
Expansion Slots Expansion slots are connected to your MOBO and allow you to add things like video cards and more.
13
Monitor The computer monitor is the screen that displays all the information.
14
Keyboard The keyboard is hooked into one of your USB slots and allows you to type in word and Google and much more.
15
Mouse The mouse is how you control what you want to do on the computer but of course you could just use the TAB and BACKSPACE keys to navigate around and the ENTER key to left click and the SHIFT and ENTER keys at the same time to right click.
16
SATA Cable The SATA cable sends data from the optical drive to the computer or vice versa.
