Author: Cynthia Rylant Cynthia Rylant was born in Hopewell, Virginia on June 6, 1954. She grew up with her mother and grandparents in Beaver, West Virginia. Growing up, she liked comic books, pets, pajama parties, and the Beatles. Now Cynthia Rylant lives in Oregon with her son and two cats.
