2 Health Science  Health science is the applied science maintaining and improving of human health.  The health science industry has many medical jobs ranging from dentistry to neurology and from nursing to radiology.  The health science industry has a good outlook for it in the next ten years thanks to all of the technological developments.

3 Neurology  Is a medical specialty dealing with the nervous system and the brain.  Neurology deals with diagnosis and treatment of all categories of disease involving the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous system.  Neurology is greatly related to Psychiatric issues with a person.

4 Neurologist  A physician who works on the nervous system is called a neurologist.  A neurologist studies, diagnose and treat injuries and diseases of the nervous system.  Many neurologists either study in the field of psychiatry or work with a psychiatrist.

5 College For Neurology  Must go through four years of college, four years of medical school, one year of internship, and at least three years as a neurology resident.  A bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate degree is necessary in order to become a neurologist.  A neurologist must pass the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians to enter specialist training in neurology.

6 Neurologist Examination  A neurologist examines patients with an MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) or a CAT(computed axial tomography) scan.  A patient’s health history is taken for diagnosis.  Many Neurologists may also perform spinal taps on a patient to obtain bone marrow.

7 Dentistry  The diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases in the oral cavity.  Two types of dentistry, the common western dentistry and the lesser known holistic dentistry, which doesn’t use the chemicals western dentists use.  Many oral diseases can indicate a systemic or neural disease or disorder.

8 Dentistry College  Dentists must earn at least a master’s degree in college, as well as a postgraduate diploma for some companies.  A dentist must have either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).  Although it’s not required, many dentists complete somewhere between 3-6 years of secondary education before practicing.

9 Dental Surgery  The most common treatments with dental surgery is that for tooth cavities.  A dentist may use a wide range of items to fill a tooth; such as dental amalgam and many other non-precious metals.  If necessary, a dentist may prescribe an x-ray or medication for the patient.

10 Salary Of A Dentist  A dentists annual earnings can range from $100,000 to $150,00.  A dentist can get paid over $40 a patient.  A dentist usually works from 35 to 40 hours a week, but new ones work over 40 hours a week.

11 Dental History  The practicing of dentistry can be dated back to 7000 B.C.  Dentistry was first used by using a bow drill on the tooth, most likely performed by a bead craftsman.  The “legendary tooth worm”, dental caries or root decay, was recorded by ancient India, Egypt, Japan, and China.
