Gather relevant information from a variety of print and electronic sources, as well as from direct observation, interviews, and surveys.

4  One-two words  Spelled correctly  Try synonyms  Broad vs. narrow  Use last names Define and narrow a problem or research topic. CLE 3002.4.1 Brain-storming works wonders to get started on the right track. Write or type everything you can think of. Then, go back, and refine your notes.

10  On the full sheet of paper, fill in keywords that you think will be useful for your research project. Use your guided notes flow-chart, if needed.
