Main Duties Diagnose diseases or abnormal animal and perform laboratory tests. Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medicine, dressing wounds and you may have to perform a surgery. Perform emergency examination if working in an emergency clinic Vaccinate animals to prevent them from diseases Provide obstetrical and dental services Give advice to clients on feeding, housing, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals Provide anesthetic services to patients Special Duties Veterinarians may also choose to perform research which may be similar to biologists.

An outdoor work environment where the worker is exposed to variations in weather conditions and weather patterns.
