National HIV Behavioral Surveillance System (NHBS) Objective: To assess prevalence of and trends in HIV risk behaviors, HIV testing behaviors, and use of prevention services among MSM, IDU, and high risk heterosexuals Conducted in alternating 12-month cycles One group selected per cycle (MSM, IDU, HRH) 25 cities around the U.S. Current status – staff hired, IRB approvals obtained, clinic site selected, start date 11/06

SPNS YMSM of Color Initiative Funded by HRSA in fall 2004 –Julia Hidalgo, Principal Investigator (Health Policy) –Manya Magnus, Project Director (Epi-Bio) Eight grantees throughout U.S. –Grantee goal: To develop, implement, and evaluate innovative models of care for YMSM of color GWU evaluation and support center –Center goals: To support intervention and local evaluation efforts of grantees, with technical capacity, TA, and training expansion To conduct a comprehensive, multi-site evaluation of the program
