Our world provides us with more energies then just fossil fuels. There is solar energy that is provided by the sun. There is wind energy and hydro energy that is provided by moving, rushing water. There is geothermal energy that is provided by hot rocks and magma. Then there is biofuel energy that is from burning animal feces and plants. These are other energies.
3
We think our generation needs to learn about all kinds of energies. There is a possibility that we may run out of nonrenewable energies when we are older. We can not fix this, so we need to learn about alternative energies and come up with new energy sources for us to use when we are older. Also, if we learn about new energy resources now, we can change the way we use the products now, and slow down their use. When our world runs out of nonrenewable resources we can come up with new ideas for the world to use. The last reason we need to learn about nonrenewable resources is so that when we get older, we can consider an engineering degree and come up with new ways to deferent an energy crisis. These are fossil fuels!
4
It is how we get our transportation to work. It is a reliable source of energy. People make money from it. There is a lot of oil and gas in America which makes us less energy dependent on other nations.
5
Many jobs can be created in the field of retrieving these fossil fuels from our Earth. A lot of medical supplies are made of petroleum oil such as bandages, rubbing alcohol, vitamin capsules, dentures, denture adhesive, vaporizers, heart valves cold cream make up, antihistamines, cortisone, lotion, tooth brushes, tooth paste, and many other items. Fossil fuels are used to make fuel for most transportation and electricity for homes and businesses.
6
People die from the accidents while retrieving the fossil fuels from the Earth (explosions, cave ins, etc.) Fossil fuels are a major cause of pollution. Fossil fuels are very expensive to retrieve from the ground. We have a limited supply during our life time.
7
These are oil sites + gas sites. While fossil fuels currently provide a constant reasonable cost form of electricity, they are not really cost effective because they cost money, lives, and create pollution that is expensive to clean up. Fossil fuels are also dangerous to animals and animal habitats. Oil and gas can leaks can cause very bad habitat destruction and loss to nature, killing animals if it reaches the ocean.
8
Fossil fuels are used for car fuel, rubber, plastic, ink, make up, cleaning detergents, water pipes, and many more items we use daily. Fuel meter tire Pen ink Trash bag
9
Coal is only made out of plants. Fossil fuels take millions of years to form. Coal has carbon in it. Natural gas is mixed with oil or gas (not all the time). Carbon dioxide Coal is made out of dead plants. Coal miner
10
Frist the suns rays hit the producers The energy is in the producers The animals eat the producers The producers and animals die ( not at the same time) Now they get covered with many layers of sediment ( dirt) After millions of years and heat + pressure That makes fossil fuels such as petroleum oil, natural gas, coal, propane gas Ship it to the electric company Now we have to burn them(fossil fuels) The steam makes the turbine go around Now the energy goes throw the wires so we can turn on are electric things on These are the wires that carry electricity made from fossil fuels to your home.
11
These all relate to fossil fuels.
12
What we have learned that will help us in the future. Plus we learned that working together is important to not only to you, but the people your working with. Also, we learned to turn in our work on time and correctly so the job can get done and over with.
13
Fix up this last slide and make two paragraphs. #1 paragraph: Talk about your true feelings about using ff. #2 paragraph: discuss the benefits of working as a team, and how team work is important to your futures.
