3 Profile Over 6000 students 94% of Scottish origin, 57% female 48% over 30 years of age and 62% studying part-time Quality standards equivalent to established universities Four faculties/ 13 subject networks Developing research portfolio of international standing 100 research students, 10-15 will graduate this year. 7 Why do we want it? Creating the University of the Highlands and Islands Research Office – To create the big picture of the research being undertaken at UHI and strategically in terms of the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
