Once a student sees that he or she is capable of excellence, that student is never quite the same. There is a new self-image, a new notion of possibility. There is an appetite for excellence. After students have had a taste of excellence, they’re never quite satisfied with less; they’re always hungry.

18. This I Believe…A Start Learning should be a joy-filled, personally meaningful experience. My students need a high degree of support mastering content and aligning learning opportunities with their passions, strengths, and interests. Teaching BEYOND the content of my course brings me incredible joy! Feedback should always inspire the learner to continue learning.
