3. Use the set of vocabulary words to create a descriptive essay. Compare/Contrast using a Venn Diagram of your hometown to the landscape painting. Create a Digital Story using the descriptive essay. A video conference will conclude the lesson using landscape paintings.

4. SCIENCE Look closely at the landscape picture, Among the Sierra Nevada, California. Make at least 5 observations (facts) about this piece of art. Now make 5 inferences (opinions) about this piece of art.

5. SCIENCE Make at least 2 predictions as to what might happen next in the art work. A video conference will be completed using art works demonstrating the Scientific Method. Ecosystems, Biomes, Cloud Formation

6. MATH Using proportional reasoning to model and solve real-life problems. Using a trail through the forest scene in the painting the students will find the length of the trail. A BLM will be provided for each student. Segment notation will be discussed in order for information to be recorded accurately.

7. MATH Enrichment: Students will be challenged to add another 1 1/4 miles to the trail by extending the trail in any direction from point A to point C. Standard units or metric units could be used. A video conference will conclude the lesson using paintings related to math concepts.
