Common Core State Standards Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are an updated set of academic standards that have been developed with the intention of unifying learning expectations for students across all states. New Standards for these Academic Areas: -English Language Arts (ELA) -Math

Go Math! Consumable “textbook pages” (completed in class) will be torn out and included with each night’s homework pages. There is online help at https://www-k6.thinkcentral.comhttps://www-k6.thinkcentral.com Student IDs and passwords are the same as last year Pages can be printed from home Mini tutorials are available I will teach math EVERY DAY and there will be math homework every Monday-Thursday.

Grading Policy Every student starts with straight A’s! Some assignments are checked off for completion Grades are a compilation of: Classwork Homework Tests Projects Quizzes

Homework Between 45 minutes and one hour a night Ravenous Readers: read an additional 30 minutes a night – or 120 minutes a week Students are required to use their Agenda. Assignments are due at 8:15. No late work is accepted in 5 th grade. Students have 2 emergency “Curve Ball” passes this year. Once they are used, missing assignments become a zero.
