Rental responsibilities ◦ Tenants must remember the building is not your property—take good care of it ◦ Lease—written rental agreement Length of lease Rental fee Condition of the apartment Moving out of the apartment ◦ Security deposit—an amount of money, usually one month’s rent, paid to the owner of rental property when the lease is signed The own will use the money to make repairs if you damage the apartment; if no damage, you will et the money back ◦ Never take part in a verbal only agreement
