Putting nitrogen fixation to work for smallholder farmers in Africa Form TypePurpose Field books To document details of farm type, agronomy, growing conditions and immediate feedbacks of farmers that will be an important source of information to explain yield differences by researchers and farmers. Input Distribution and Feedback Form To track the type/number of packages distributed to the farmers participating in the adaptation trials, and get basic feedback on N2Africa technologies used in the adaptation trials. Training Data Form To collect data for each training conducted. This will assist to know number of persons trained and in which areas and to follow up on trainings conducted and effects on performance, etc Field days Data Form To collect data during field days. This helps to capture the additional beneficiaries (farmers reached), obtain feedback from various actors, etc Media Event Data Form To collect data on Media events organized as dissemination activity by the project and its partners This provides details on types of events organized, focus, and to follow up to check the effectiveness of such events Technology Evaluation Data Form This tool enables the evaluation and documentation of feedback from value chain actors (farmers, agrodealers, marketers, etc) on the technologies introduced to them. The feedback is used to determine any changes in the approach or technologies to be introduced next season.

Data will assist to have overview of inputs available, accessibility, production volumes, marketing strategies, general performance of producers due and in relation to technologies/trainings introduced, etc. This can also be used for farmers who are not in formal groups but participated in demos as a group. Agro dealer Data Form To collect data on the activities and results of agro dealers being supported through project interventions. Data will assist to have overview of input distribution systems, access by farmers, challenges, networks, strategies, etc Processing/Value Addition Data Form To collect data on processing activities and results being supported through project interventions. Data will assist to have overview of input distribution, challenges, networks, strategies, etc Evaluation of project interventions and Outcomes Form To evaluate the entire project interventions for the previous season and to ascertain the level of achievement of selected outcomes. This form should be administered at the end of the season during final meetings/evaluation sessions of farmer groups and other actors.
