2011 NCPEA Publications Focus: Move NCPEA Yearbook and ELR into profit-making enterprise ACTION ITEMS 1. Routledge/ELR Contract – Hold and revisit in 2011 (let’s get M&T in order first) 2.Honor ELR contract with Pro/Active through Spring 2011 – then move to Online and/or Qoop Published hard copies March 2010, Volume 11, Number 1 is set up now as an example Online (PDF) and also Order Printed Copy for $7.00 through CNX/Qoop Go to: http://cnx.org/content/col11179/latesthttp://cnx.org/content/col11179/latest Subscription model on your handout (PEC will finalize a rate plan and submit to Board in January 2011) 3.Notify Pro/Active IMMEDIATELY that we are severing ELR contract after the Spring ELR issue; and the Yearbook contract after Summer 2011. 4.After Summer 2011, move Yearbook to Qoop Print on Demand PEC will prepare income and expenditure proposal for Board approval in January 2011 5.Assistant Editors Pool Recommendations – Four applicants received as of September 1 ELR, Gerard Babo, Assistant Editor mentored by Editor Ken Lane, former Editor Phil Young, and founding Editor Ted Creighton M&T, Linda Searby, Review Editor mentored by Editor Beverly Irby IJELP/CNX, Janet Tareilo and Angela Webster Smith, Editors in Residence mentored by Ted Creighton Yearbook, Julia Ballenger mentored by Editor Betty Alford

Information NCPEA Publications site now is the HOME for IJELP (CNX), ELR, M&T, and Yearbook: www.ncpeapublications.orgwww.ncpeapublications.org Last three weeks, 24 submissions to IJELP; 8 submissions to ELR; 6 submissions to Yearbook IJELP Instructional Modules continue to “surge…”(Bonnie Beyer, Topic Editor) Tareilo and Webster-Smith assisting with Connexions formatting and “in residence” preparing to serve as IJELP Editors IJELP adding Topic Area to publications – “Mentoring” – Carol Mullen has agreed to serve as Topic Editor – Reviewers with expertise signing on so far: Sandy Harris, Phil Young, Effie Christie, Karen Crum, Carl Holt, Shelly Albritton, Linda Creighton Book authors – Royalties now offered with 50% to author/50% to NCPEA – Example: Kersten total royalty is $5.00 per copy: $2.50 to author and $2.50 to NCPEA

PEC and NCPEA Publications Next Steps…….. Create “proposals” of income and expenditures to align with Action items approved Refine as directed, Mentoring Reviewers, Assistant Editors, and Editors for NCPEA Publications: A Proposal After discussion with Joe Pacha, Gary Kinsey, and Jim Berry; we are investigating presenting Online conference sessions from Portland to professors not attending the conference Initiate mentoring system for IJELP editors Continue the development of the NCPEA Publications website Other duties as directed by E.D. and Board
