1 International Affairs Virtual Career Networking Forum Collaboration between Career Services and the International Relations Program (largest major on campus) Replaced traditional alumni panel on Tufts campus Online platform where students post questions that are answered by alumni Forum is “live” for 1-3 weeks Goal is to foster career exploration and networking opportunities for Tufts students with IA alumni around the globe

5 International Affairs Virtual Career Networking Forum What works Forum draws approximately 100 students each year Better alumni numbers and global representation 24/7 access to forum works well for both students and alumni Students learn from each other as well as alumni Forum content is available on CS website for later viewing Challenges Not clear on ideal time for Forum No face-to-face interactions Some degree of non-responsiveness from alumni

6 International Affairs Virtual Career Networking Forum Future direction Return to shorter time frame (2 weeks) Target younger alumni class years (1-15 years out) Allow students to register and post questions prior to opening of forum (hoping to engage more alumni from beginning of program) Plan to encourage students and alumni to continue their discussions through the Tufts International Relations LinkedIn group
