Only rain forest located in the tropics or ten degrees within the equator have year round warm weather. Subtropical rain forest that lay outside the equator have season al changes. There is no dry season, rains falls nearly every day. The rainforest are very humid due to the warm weather, rain, and the canopies hanging over top of the trees, which keep the moisture in the forest.

Even though the tropical rainforest only covers a little bit of the earth's surface like 6 %, there home to over half the animals and plants of the world. It rains 1500mm to 2500mm a year. The Tropical Rainforest biome is the richest source of plant life in the whole entire earth, it temperature are 70-90 degrees and lots of water supply About one quarter of all the medicines we use today come from the rainforest plants and many varieties of tropical plants are believed to be potential cures for cancer

Drips have waxy surfaces and allow water to run off, to discourage growth of bacteria and fungi Buttresses and prop and stilt roots help hold up plants in the shallow soil Some plants climb on others to reach the sunlight Flowers on the forest floor are designed to lure animal pollinators since there is relatively no wind on the forest floor to aid in pollination Smooth bark and smooth or waxy flowers speed the run off of water Plants have shallow roots to help capture nutrients from the top level of soil. Epiphytic orchids have aerial roots that cling to the host plant, absorb minerals, and absorb water from the atmosphere

Animals become specialized by eating a plant or animal that few others eat. Parrots eat nuts and develop strong beaks to open them. Ants figured out how to make the fungus they eat by cutting down leaves and spitting on it. Some animals use camouflage Some animals are poisons and have bright colors to warn to stay away. Some trees depend on animals to spread there seeds. For example the calvaria tree depended on the dodo bird. The seed needed the seed to go through the digestive system before they could germinate. Now the tree is going extinct as well.

They have been effected by fire, storms and droughts. They are not as bad as human threats because the ecosystem can recover from the natural effects.
