Who is completing an SLO? ALL teachers MMS-choose a tested subject if you teach more than one, otherwise your subject MHS EOC classes Non EOC/Electives-Choose a grade level/subject where 80% of your students are SLO goals can not be based on an IEP

Our focus 1 & 6 Student Population Describe the student population Identify factors that may impact student growth Include all subgroups

Student Population Includes ALL students i.e. 2 classes of Eng I 30 each equals 60 students Examples of factors SPED Emotionally distant Failed a grade Repeating the course Constantly absent Medical needs

Development Time ~25 minutes In your vertical teams, you will discuss your SLO section 1 demographics and possible barriers and write the barriers on the chart paper, list the subject at the top Complete section 1 based on your students using your template, handwritten or typed All of your section 1s will not look alike and that is ok

Gallery Walk Post the chart paper on the wall and we will complete a gallery walk to review the barriers by subject and see similarities and differences

Reflection Most important piece Student progress and impact of instructional practices and student achievement Common sense, don’t over think

Reflection Can be in a variety of formats: Template Notebook Interactive journal Electronic portfolio
