“CITUS ET CERTUS” The carrier must receive within 75 days of the date of delivery – not just put in the mail * Mail directly to carrier (with a return receipt) File online w/in 70 days at https://claims.jag.af.mil File at Base Legal Office w/in 70 days

“CITUS ET CERTUS” File claim directly with the carrier w/in 9 months of the date of delivery – remember you must have notified carrier w/in 75 days After 9 months, but no later than 2 years, file with the Air Force Claims Service Center (AFCSC) – depreciation will apply! DON’T FORGET TO FILE YOUR PINK FORM AS DISCUSSED IN THE LAST SILDE

“CITUS ET CERTUS” If move was done through DPS - Entire claims process to include giving carrier notice of loss or damage is done through DPS website Notice of loss or damage is not annotated on the DD Form 1840/1840R (pink form) The 75-day and 9-month timeframes that apply to FRV apply to DPS!

“CITUS ET CERTUS” Prevent theft – don’t ship valuables in POV Allow sufficient time to inspect at port when picking up * Annotate any damages on the DD Form 788 Don’t let inspectors at port rush you Be wary of accepting payment for damages at port
