Madonna del Cardellino Created in 1505 the Madonna is one of Raphael’s most famous paintings. The Madonna was a wedding gift from Raphael to his friend Lorenzo Nasi. In 1548, Nasi's house was destroyed by an earthquake and the painting broke into seventeen pieces. It was restored shortly afterwards, but the damage was still visible in the painting.

AWESOME Raphael had the only painting “Workshop” from the “Old masters” of artists. He employed 40 or more people at one time, and most of the people became known painters. One of Raphael's most well know paintings, is The Great Athens, which he painted when he was in his youth.

Summary Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo being the three most amazing painters of the Italian Renaissance, Raphael came out on top. He also worked with two popes to make The School Of Athens. And though he had a short life of 39 years, he made hundreds of well known works of art.
