Banquet Committee - Meeting Minutes March 21, 2009 TopicAthletic Banquet Date:21-Mar-09 Object ive: 1. to have a fun banquet closing out the years athletic program and recognizing the participation of all the players 2. to recognize a select few that have earned the MVP award (8thy grade only) and Coaches award ( all grades) 3. to provide special recognition and honor the 8th grade athletes Meeting Minutes: This meeting was a sub committee to focus on the organization and coordination of the Banquet The committee discussed the proposed agenda and modified the following: 1. inclusion of comments from Mary Stallman and Father Steve 2. decided to use the term Coaches award versus Most improved player award. Coaches award should take into consideration season's skill improvement, Commitment, effort and Teamwork. 3. committee agreed to have photos of all kids after they receive awards. Photos will be available to parents 4. Committee agreed to providing participation awards to all players and a special award to 8th grade MVP‘s and all grade Coaches awards. 5. Committee agreed to including a reception desk to the banquet providing Agenda, direction and welcoming to all 6. Committee agreed to include a pizza, drinks and cupcake reception in the cafeteria after the banquet. * Approx 25 pizza's * use the remaining drinks from concessions, if require more Paul will organize * 100 cupcakes 7. Committee agreed to insert two music vides. One about the players the other comic relief. 8. Committee agreed to have guest speaker. (Morande, McKenna or Tim VonG.) Action items: 1. Melo to invite and coordinate Mary Stallman and Father Steve to participate in the opening of the banquet 2. Doring to send email to all coaches regarding the banquet, coach evaluation forms and uniform returns 3. Doring to create the Banquet Agenda to be given to all attendees. Included will be the photo form if parents want their child photo emailed to them. 4. Doring to email all coaches asking for them to collect pictures of their team (targeting one photo per player preferably in action) to include in the opening music video. To be returned to AD's mailbox at the school. 5. Peg to research and recommend type of awards. 6. Peg and Melo to work the reception desk of the banquet 7. Melo to coordinate with Barb on the availability of Gym and cafeteria 8. Peg to coordinate with Dante's availability to speak and participate at the banquet 9. Alascio to coordinate with Jerry Faust and Brian Morgan on leading the reception activities (will need approx 5-7 volunteers) 10. Peg to coordinate Pizza with Jerry/Brian 11. Melo to coordinate drinks with Jerry/Brian 12. Younger to coordinate cupcakes with Jerry/Brian 13. Alascio to work with Ginny A. about taking photos of all players after receiving awards 14. Alascio to coordinate the ppt music presentation of all the players (maximum time of 5 minutes) 15. Doring to coordinate the comic relief music video (max of 3 minutes) 16.
