Timeline and History of The University of Alabama 1831 - The university was opened and 52 students enrolled that year. 1851 – total university enrollment: 126 students 1892 – first football team was assembled, called the “Thin Red Line”. 1911 – total university enrollment: 571 students 1956 – the university’s first African American student was admitted. 1968 – the first computer based program was established.

6. Conclusion: As you can see, I have chosen many reasons why I want to attend this fine school. In my opinion, I think it fits me very well. I hope in the future, I will be able to attend The University of Alabama. Thank You, Kelsey
