1 THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD

2 Chichén Itzá was a large city built by the Maya civilization. Nowadays it is located in Mexico. Dominating the North Platform of Chichén Itza is the Temple of Kukulkan, called as El Castillo. This step pyramid stands about 30 metres high and consists of a series of terraces. The four faces of the pyramid have very slope stairways. The most amazing thing is that in the afternoon the light makes you see like a snake going down the stairs.

3 It’s one of the most famous buildings in the world, located in Agra, India. It was built by the emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653. The building has several styles: Islamic, Persian, Turkish and Indian.

4 Machu Pichu is an old village built in the 15th-century between the Machu Pichu and Huayna Picchu mountains, in the south of Peru. The area is divided in two parts: - The agricultural section in the south. - The urban section where people lived and did their religious and civil activities. These two parts are separated by a wall.

5 It’s an Arabian city situated in Jordania. Petra means stone and the city has this name because it’s built in the stone

6 It’s an old fortification that crosses China, to protect the Chinese Empire from the attacks of other countries. First they made little walls and later they joined together and made them bigger. Now it’s approximately 8.851 kilometres long.

7 Is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. It was used to see gladiatorial shows and other events. The Colosseum today is a place with thousands of tourists each year, paying to view the interior arena.

8 It’s a statue of Jesus of Nazareth with his arms open, showing to Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil that they have become independent. The statue is 38 metres tall and it’s made of soapstone and was constructed between 1922 and 1931.
