Polar bears
2
Under the clear blue Arctic sky, there is a polar bear standing on a small piece of ice, looking at the reflection of himself on the surface of the quiet water.
3
The ice is getting thinner and thinner on the Arctic Ocean as it becomes warmer and warmer. Suddenly, he looks up at the rising sun. And, here the story of the polar bear begins..
4
We, polar bears, are native to the Arctic Oc ean and its surrounding areas.
5
We are the world's largest predator found on land, an adult male like me weighs around 400–680 kg (880–1,500 lb), while an adult female is about half of my size.
6
As we can hunt consistently only from sea ice, we spend most time of a year on the frozen sea.
7
But now where is our way?
8
On May 14, 2008, the United States Department of the Interior listed the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. By the end of 2008 there were only 20,000 to 25,000 of us struggling around the world, according to WWF(World Wildlife Fund).
9
Our habitat has changed into sand……
10
Some strange things came …
11
The ice is melting quickly in the north and south pole. And that has a bad influence on us.
12
We had to move, but where can we go? Who can help us? My story ends here…
13
Polar bears are in danger. We must take measures to protect the kind of beautiful and lovely animal because it is the treasure of nature.
14
Now, let’s watch a short video to see what the last polar bear will do if that moment really happens.video
