WALT-Understand Adaptation How has Allah made these animals in a way that they adapted to their environment?

Camel Habitat-desert n Has long legs to keep body away from hot sand n Can store fat in its hump. n Can go for long periods without water.

Camel n Can close nostrils to keep out sand. n Has long eyelashes to keep out sand. n Many blood vessels just under the skin to cool the blood.

Polar Bear Habitat- Polar region(Arctic) n Has white fur for camouflage. n Thick fur to keep warm. n Sharp teeth and claws to catch and eat prey. n Has ridged foot pads to prevent slipping.

Penguin( Polar region- Antarctic) n Has thick layer of fat to keep warm. n Produces oil to keep feathers waterproof. n Stream lined body for swimming.

Fish Habitat- Marine(Ocean/Aquatic) n Streamline body- to swim fast through the water. n Gills- to help it breathe underwater.

Fish Habitat- Marine(Ocean/Aquatic) n Bright colours- for camouflage from predators n Fins and tail- change direction when moving in water.

Chameleon Habitat- Rain forest n Sticky long tongue to catch insects. n Can change colour to escape from predators. n To get heat becomes a darker colour. n Curled tail-to hold onto branches.

Duck Habitat- Wetlands n Wings- to fly great distances. n Oily feathers-to keep feathers water proof. n Broad flat beak-to sift small animals from the water. n Webbed feet-to swim in the water.

Giraffe Habitat-Grasslands n Long neck-to reach for leaves in tall trees. n Long legs-to walk through the tall grass. n Long leathery tongue- to gather food. n Colour- camouflage from predators.
